Travel Time…and, “Thanks!!”

Just finished packing and getting all the details set for this weekend. I did receive the update that my bike has made it to the race site, and I have inventoried my entire packing list twice!  We leave tomorrow morning on the 6:00am flight to Houston.

Tomorrow is a packed day with travel, a press conference for the fundraising athletes (with the pros…pretty cool), the athlete banquet (I’m a guest speaker), and the VIP reception tomorrow night.

I do want to take a moment to offer a preliminary “Thanks” to all that have supported my efforts.  I am super excited about the funds we have raised for Pattison’s Academy and I know the money will go to great use to help these kids with the educational and therapy services.

Tomorrow the mental prep and the “on site recon” starts for the Saturday race.

If you would like to follow my progress on Saturday, you can do so by going to www.ironmanlive.com or ironman.com and use the Athlete Tracker function.

A special thank you to several of the key players that helped make this happen behind the scenes:

Tracey Bozzelli, Brian Rueger, Amy Royle, Kathryn Hall, Debbi Stanley, Raheel Gauba, Steven Thomas, Frank Berry, The Zuri Group, and Dave Deschenes (Exec. Director of The Ironman Foundation).

Game On!

9 Days Out…

Not a lot of training going on at this point, as I am tapering down waiting for the event.  It sure is difficult slowing down and thinking you are ready when the last few weeks contain very little training.

The reality of the event being almost here hit yesterday.  I shipped my bike to Ironman Texas yesterday…My bike is on the way!

I leave for Houston next Thursday…

Train Hard!
